They say that fishing is the sport of drowning worms. That certainly was the case around here when the fishing season first opened on May 10. Our never-ending winter, the long-lasting lake ice, and the constant cool weather kept the lake temperatures too low. Bearskin is always a delightful place to be out in a boat, so the fishing was good. It was just the catching that was bad. It took awhile for the fish to start biting.
However, as this photo taken by the Ester family proves, fishing season on East Bearskin Lake has now officially begun. Good things come to those who bait.
