Bower Trout to Poplar lake
This
trip starts down the Lima Grade Rd at Bower-Trout Lake.
Paddle West through a series of small lakes to Swan lake. From
Swan, continue over a long portage to Vernon lake. Take the time
to explore the small falls off the portage between Vernon and
Brule. Continue West on Brule lake, one of the largest lakes in
the area. Begin heading North through the Cones, and portage into
the aptly named Cliff lake. From Cliff, travel through
Wanihigain to Winchell. Carry over a short, but steep portage to
Gaskin, a very scenic lake. Gaskin leads to Horseshoe, a narrow
lake that is a great place to see a moose. From Horseshoe head to
Caribou and onto Lizz lake, finally ending a Poplar. This is a
great trip for someone looking to see a lot of country and it features
excellent fishing and moose viewing opportunities.
