Moose
Viewing Package
If you
were to ask everyone who comes to the Gunflint Trail what they would
like to accomplish on their visit, many times the answer would be to
see a
moose. And while seeing a moose from your car window on the road
is always a treat, nothing's better than coming across this
truly impressive animal in its natural environment. We put
together this package to try to send you through known moose hot spots.

On a
warm summer day one of the more enjoyable sights you can come across
is a pristine, flowing waterfall. This package is designed to
take you right to some of the most impressive falls in the area.
On the first day paddle from East Bearskin and swim below Johnson
Falls. The next day, hike the Stairway Portage to Rose Falls and
enjoy
the spectacular views surrounding it. On your last day paddle
the
Granite River to Little Rock Falls, a smaller falls on a beautiful
stretch of river.

Cliff Package
| Exposed rock
faces and imposing cliffs are some of the defining characteristics of
the Eastern Boundary Waters. Here we steer you
towards some of the best in the area. Your first day will start
with a paddle down Clearwater , where you will be greeted by towering
palisades the moment you leave the landing. Continue down the
lake for as long as you want, and if you feel up to it, go half
way down Clearwater and into Mountain Lake, a classic border lake. From
Mountain
you can portage into Watap Lake, a personal
favorite of Bearskins. You could also go to the end of Clearwater and
portage into West Pike. The next day paddle
the popular
trip to Rose Lake. Hike |

|
to
the nearby vistas from
the
portage or paddle west on Rose until you are under Rat Bluff, one of
the highest points in the BWCA. Your third day will be spent
paddling around Seagull Lake, with its famous palisades.
