In 2007 the McCloughan
family bought Bearskin Lodge and moved to the Gunflint Trail.. We
had always loved Northern Minnesota and spent a great deal of time
there, so the lodge
seemed like a good fit. Bearskin Wilderness Outfitters was born
as an excuse to involve ourselves further into another passion of
ours, canoe camping and wilderness travel. It is our hope that we
can provide the same level of service and attention to detail that
Bearskin Lodge is so well known for. Our outfitters is smaller
than most, but as such, we intend to be able to
handle each group more personally, taking extra time to make sure that
your route
is the right route for you, and that your gear will leave you equipped
to enjoy this beautiful area and meet any challenges that may come up
during your trip. Our hope is that when you outfit with us you will be
as
comfortable on the trail as in one of our cabins.
