Moose on the loose

The weekend looks warm and promising, with the potential for great skiing as well as some new area fun.  The Cook County Volks Ski Fest (), a new skiing and snowshoeing festival in our area, starts this weekend.

Join us at Bearskin on Sunday for a free skiers’ barbecue on the lake from 11-2, sponsored by the Volks Ski Fest. Andy (the grillmeister) is manning the barecue grill, so you know the food will be good. The barbecue is open to anyone with a current trail ticket — even if you’re not registered for the Volks Ski Fest, join us for free brats and beer and learn more about this fun new winter festival. The Volks Ski Fest runs through February 8th and offers skiers and snowshoers an opportunity to experience trails all over Cook County.

Reservations are still available for Chez Jude at Bearskin this weekend. In answer to a question Central Gunflint Skiers sometimes ask: The food at Chez Jude at Bearskin is classy, but you don’t have to dress that way to enjoy it. An après-ski dinner after a day on the trails makes a lovely ending to a memorable day. Don’t worry about showing up in your ski clothes for dinner–nobody else is going to be dressed up either!

Meanwhile, when skiers on our trails are enjoying one of the nicest weekends of the winter, Quinn and I will be sitting in a drippy plastic tent at the City of Lakes Loppet passing out literature about Bearskin Lodge.  If you're going to be at the Loppet, stop in and say hi.

Read it over will serve as a good way to troubleshoot any http://essaynara.com/ confusing spots.
