Bearskin Lodge has closed until May 1

To our Bearskin guests from the McCloughan family:

After giving it a considerable amount of thought and after days of discussion, our family at Bearskin Lodge has decided that the ethical decision to make at this point is to cancel our remaining reservations for the winter season. We do this with great reluctance because we know how special your Bearskin visits are.  However, for the health of our staff, our family, and our Gunflint Trail and Cook County neighbors it has become obvious that we need to do our part in discouraging travel.

At this point the closure does not affect any reservation after May 1. We optimistically hope and pray that the efforts we are contributing now will help limit the scope of viral spread. We are moving ahead with plans for the summer and have high hopes that better times are ahead. We love sharing our beautiful environment with you and will truly miss our daily interactions with our wonderful guests.

Governor Walz has asked us all to be part of the efforts to flatten the curve, so as not overwhelm our health care system. The majority of other businesses in our area are making or have already made a similar decision. All of us feel sad that it has to be done.

Our beautiful area will still be still be here for you to visit in the future. We sincerely hope to see you soon. Please stay safe and healthy. Thank you for understanding our concerns.
